Ok RJ, is there another single location on the planet that has so many leading board shapers and sailmakers? Board shapers: Mark Nelson - Mistral, Richard Greene - JP, Keith Taboul - Quatro, Sean Ordonez... I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. Then there's sail designers - Barry Spanier - Maui Sails (formerly of Gaastra), Nils Rosenblad - Naish, Jason Diffin - Simmer, Dave Ezzy - Ezzy...
I stand by what I said, Maui is the R&D capital of the windsurfing world. Sure, not all of it goes on here, but a huge percentage of it does.
